Case Study: Airdrie Leisure Lighting and Audio

Overview

North Lanarkshire Leisure partnered with Reid Smart Solutions Ltd to deliver a lighting and audio enhancement across multiple fitness areas within the facility. The project focused on transforming the gym floor, power studio, main studio and cycle studio into modern, immersive training environments that elevate the member experience.

The installation combined feature LED lighting and integrated audio technology to create dynamic spaces tailored to different styles of training and fitness classes.

The Project

North Lanarkshire Leisure wanted to modernise several key fitness areas within the facility, creating a more engaging and energetic atmosphere for members while maintaining practical functionality for day-to-day use.

The brief included:

Feature lighting throughout the main gym
Dynamic feature lighting within the power studio and main studio.
Dynamic to music cycle studio lighting
Integrated audio system within the cycle studio

The goal was to deliver a premium fitness environment that would enhance member engagement and support high-energy group training sessions.

The Solution

Reid Smart Solutions designed and installed a bespoke lighting solution within each training zone, and a bespoke audio solution within the cycle studio, ensuring every space had its own distinct atmosphere while maintaining a cohesive modern aesthetic throughout the facility.

Main Gym Area

The gym floor was upgraded using sleek linear LED lighting integrated into the ceiling layout, providing clean architectural lines and a modern ambient glow throughout the space. The lighting design improved the overall atmosphere while maintaining practical illumination levels for day-to-day training.

Power Training Studio

The power studio was transformed using feature LED lighting to create a high-impact training environment. The darker aesthetic combined with integrated linear lighting delivers a focused and premium feel, perfectly suited to strength and functional fitness training.

Main Studio

The main studio received a contemporary lighting upgrade using LED lighting to enhance the overall ambience and flexibility of the space for a variety of fitness classes.

Cycle Studio

The standout feature of the project was the complete transformation of the cycle studio. Reid Smart Solutions installed dynamic colour-changing LED lighting alongside an integrated audio system designed specifically for high-energy spin sessions.

The Outcome

The completed installation has modernised the fitness areas throughout the facility, delivering visually striking spaces that improve both atmosphere and member experience.
